Introducing A New Way of Working in Subsurface and Drilling

Democratizing access to liberated, usable, and shareable data can revolutionize the subsurface and drilling world. Aker BP explains how

Thanks to cloud-native technologies, exploration and production (E&P) companies now have the ability to make data-driven decisions that save time and costs and generate long-term gains in subsurface and drilling.

Aker BP and Cognite are joining forces to implement a modern, cloud-based, vendor-neutral architecture that streams subsurface and drilling data via application programming interfaces (APIs). This significantly reduces the time and effort it takes for subject-matter experts to find the data they need, enabling them to do their jobs more confidently, resiliently, rapidly, and with a competitive edge.

In this session, Aker BP and Cognite will present a new approach to finding and previewing structured and unstructured subsurface and drilling data extracted from multiple IT and OT source systems. From the challenge of searching for data and information stored in application silos to the benefits of democratizing access to liberated, usable, and shareable data, this presentation will detail Aker BP’s digital journey from the perspective of its subsurface and drilling teams.

This approach not only enables Aker BP’s digital ambitions, but represents an opportunity for all E&P companies to empower their subsurface and drilling experts with data that can help them drive and speed up change, improve and shorten decision-making processes, minimize risk, and create value.
